I've got another new book out today ... this one HOT after the COLD of Winter Break. Today's new release is City of Fire -- sequel to my "horror procedural" Gore Point. (Which, in case you missed it, I've pitched as "Backdraft with demons.") A lot of my most ardent readers already have this book, having snapped it up during its Kickstarter campaign last fall. But if you weren't one of those readers -- if you're more of an "I just want the book" kind of reader -- now's your chance to get it at a discount. (Although for you Kickstarter types, scroll down to the bottom of this email for an announcement about the final book in the trilogy!)
You can get City of Fire direct from me, or you can get it from all the normal bookstores.

I want to tell you all the awesome things in City of Fire, but I'm still wary of spoilers for book 1. The full description is here if you've already read Gore Point.
The email-safe, spoiler-free highlights, however, are:
If you loved Gore Point, you're going to love City of Fire. (And if you haven't read Gore Point yet, you can also get that one from me or from bookstores. Just be sure to grab City of Fire too, because its price will go up in a week.)
This series is classically Truant & Platt: Intrigue, twists and turns, disorienting reversals ... and horror that's all the more real because nerd that I am, I've grounded all I could in science.
Happy horrors,
JT
P.S: If you were a Kickstarter backer and have already read City of Fire, please leave a review wherever you bought it (or just put one on Amazon if you bought it from me). Reviews are vitally important for authors ... and even your "one little review" does -- I promise -- truly make a difference!
P.P.S: SUPER EXCITING ANNOUNCEMENT: The Kickstarter campaign for the third and final book in the Gore Point series -- PLAGUE OF DEMONS -- is now in pre-launch! As with prior campaigns, you'll be able to get it as a fancy hardback in hand-numbered limited special editions that match books 1 and 2 (and/or as an ebook and paperback), author's commentary, and more. If you didn't join the prior Kickstarter campaigns, you'll also be able to get books 1 and 2 as beautiful special editions from this new campaign as add-on items. Follow the campaign here so you don't miss it. I'm hoping to launch it on February 4th!
Behind-the-scenes book talk with a bestselling author and his unicorn. Join 6000+ readers of my 150 books as I share stories behind the stories, unbox the creative process, and lead a disobedient "artisan author" movement to treat readers like rockstars and make the book world suck less.
I have some good news for you audiophiles out there! (Or at least the kind of audiophiles who are into audiobooks.) I finally got tired of being asked "Are your books available in audio?" and decided to do something about it. For a long time, I've had to lower my head and admit, "Um, only Fat Vampire is available in audio. Sorry." Now, though, I've done two audiobook-related things that I think you'll like: FIRST, I've put all of the great audiobooks I've had from the past up on my direct...
Last month, I sent you something called "Why most of my books have two authors." It was all about my creative relationship with my constant co-author, Sean Platt. I got a lot of responses to that one. (Something I encourage, by the way. I don't get a lot of replies to these, so sometimes I wonder if anyone is reading.) I must never have explained the way Sean and I co-author to a lot of you ... or maybe I just didn't go into as much detail. Readers seemed to think it was interesting, hearing...
Hey and happy Saturday! I just wanted to remind you that my signed books sale ends tomorrow. Click here to check it out. I've never offered signed books online before, but over the past week, a lot of you have been ordering signed copies of your favorites: everything from Fat Vampire to The Beam, from the "Dark Tower on LSD" epic of Unicorn Western to the first book I ever wrote, The Bialy Pimps. But at some point, I need to close the sale, order the books, sign them, and ship them back out....
